Leslie Millikin is a Licensed Massage Therapist serving the Brenham, Texas area. While she always wanted to be a physical therapist, she chose a different path in college and graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. She worked as a data analyst and software developer for major corporations for many years but never lost her love for physical therapy.
In 2016 she made the decision to change her profession to follow her passion and graduated from Laurel School of Massage in Spring, Texas. Now she uses her analytical skills to assess her clients' needs and customize their treatment plans to help them on their healing journey.
Leslie is a native Texan growing up in Victoria. She enjoys the outdoors, gardening, clearing fence lines and trails, going on adventures with family and friends, music of all kinds and playing piano.
Leslie combines a holistic and science-based approach toward stimulating the body’s natural ability to heal itself. It’s her goal as a therapist to formulate individualized treatment plans by analyzing mechanisms of injury, daily activities, posture, and occupational stress.
She specializes in improving her clients’ overall well-being, productivity and lifestyle through a variety of massage techniques including Myofascial Release, stretch therapy, Swedish massage, Pre/Post Natal massage, acupressure, cupping, lymphatic drainage and Graston Technique. These various techniques are used to prevent and treat injuries, increase range of motion in joints, reduce swelling due to chronic conditions and injuries, eliminate pain and promote a sense of well-being.
Muscular imbalance can be caused by an injury or from bad postural habits producing neuromuscular problems: headaches, lower back pain and even impingements of tendons & nerves. Leslie has developed her own technique to better align the hips and neck by applying pressure, tension, and movement to the soft tissues around these areas to alleviate discomfort and improve overall function. This helps reduce inflammation, increase blood flow, relax muscles, and release tension so that the muscles can start to work properly again.
